This was my first scene. Which I never finished. I learned a lot about rendering. Total work time- about 3 weeks This is a simple stapler that i never textured. Total work time- 3 days This was another submission to the same contest by the other forum that I visit. The goal was to take something ordinary and make it look mean. Total work time- one week (it was summer so i had more time) Here is something that i never finished for another forums contest. The goal was to make something dirty. I kinda just got bored of it and left it alone. Working time- about a month This is the last thing that i finished off. I did it for my schools contest. Sadly I didn't win. They have no appreciation for the computer arts . :-( Oh well here it is. In all it took about 2 months of on and off work to do.

Wow, it's always fun to look at progression,
I can't tell, in that last one, did you individually model all those chess peices or is it a trick of the mind?

I modeled the main 6 pieces and then duplicated them.

You didn't win? That's stupid, that scene is great!
Who were the judges and who won?

Just a few things:
Not to be harsh, and not that I don't like them. Remember, a critique should always be given by someone who cares about you, because otherwise they wouldn't want you to improve. Okay, so the birdfeeder.....first of all, I like the overall effect. However, why would a birdfeeder be in the middle of nature? Maybe changed the background image and add some houses or something. Save the beautiful nature image for something else, man. Secondly, the blood needs work. Darken it, give it some less form - it needs to stand by nothing else but the laws of phyics and gravity working against it. The fire needs some work. Maybe add some more dimension to it. And some more red hue. The wood in all of your stuff ......needs to look more like wood and less like an image. add some more reflectiveness. Overall, good stuff, like everyone's telling you. Keep coming. Cheers, Eric

Don't be afraid to criticize, as long is it's contstructive.
It's a lot more informative and very helpful if done respectfully.
All valid points, but note that the images are still good. THATS good constructive riticism.
*hint, hint, BA...*

TO MICROWAVE: The judges were teachers at school i think. And some girl won. She drew a pic. It wasn't all computer generated.
